Sugar Kelly was born from a part of me that has always cared deeply about how people feel.

Before Sugar Kelly became a brand, it was simply the way I moved through the world. I have always understood that hair is never just hair. It can be tied to confidence, identity, femininity, grief, transition, and healing all at once. I saw that up close when someone close to my family was navigating cancer-related hair loss and struggling to find a wig that truly felt like her. I stepped in to make her one myself, and somewhere in that process, something clicked. What began as an act of care became the beginning of Sugar Kelly.

My path into beauty was shaped not only by creativity, but by care. My background in nursing and community outreach taught me something that never left me: dignity matters. The way people are treated matters. To handle someone gently, to pay attention, and to help them feel seen without making them feel exposed, that is its own kind of skill.

Long before I ever built Sugar Kelly, I had already sat with people in some of the most vulnerable seasons of their lives, through clinical placements at Sunnybrook Hospital and Bridgepoint Active Health, and through community work at Homes First Society. In spaces like stroke and neurological rehabilitation, renal care, dialysis, and geriatrics, I learned in ways no salon training could ever teach what it means to help someone feel whole. That understanding became part of my standard long before Sugar Kelly had a name, and it remains the quiet foundation of everything I build today.

Over the past decade, I have refined my craft across Toronto, mastering premium blow dry finishes and extension techniques. Each part of the city taught me something different about beauty, presence, and the women I serve.

The Neighbourhoods

THAT INSPIRED US

Over the course of my career, I worked across six of Toronto's most iconic neighbourhoods. Each one shaped me differently, and each one left its mark on a finish that became signature to Sugar Kelly.

Yorkville

Yorkville taught me glamour in its most elevated form. There is a certain kind of woman there who understands that beauty is not excess, it is polish. Bounce, body, shine, presence. Hair that feels luxurious, camera-ready, and effortlessly chic. That world shaped the Sugar Rush.

Bay Street

Bay Street taught me precision. The women there were sharp, accomplished, and constantly in motion. Hair had to look intentional, refined, and able to hold its own in high-stakes rooms. That energy shaped the Executive Edge.

King Street West

King Street West taught me celebration. There is a confidence there that comes alive after dark. Feminine, magnetic, social, and meant to be seen. Hair moves differently in that world. It carries softness, drama, flirtation, and a little more daring. That spirit helped shape the Glamour Curl.

Yonge Street

Yonge Street taught me versatility. Women moving fluidly between work, errands, dinners, meetings, and everything in between. Women who wanted beauty that felt current, polished, and easy to live in. That effortless, wearable energy helped shape the Coastal Wave.

Avenue Road

Avenue Road taught me that true luxury rarely needs to announce itself. It is refined, composed, and unmistakably polished. A quieter elegance. A timeless finish. That energy helped shape the Silk Finish.

Bloor Street West

Bloor Street West taught me individuality. There is texture there, personality there, and a kind of beauty that feels expressive, self-assured, and fully its own. That spirit helped shape Kelly Curls.

For the Woman Who Notices

Every chair I stood behind taught me something. Every woman did too.

I created Sugar Kelly for the woman who wants to feel polished, feminine, confident, and deeply cared for. The woman who notices quality. The woman who values warmth as much as results. The woman who understands that beauty done well is not frivolous. It is affirming.

Sugar Kelly is a reflection of everything I believe in: excellence, intention, care, and the quiet power of helping women feel like themselves again, perhaps even more fully than before.

I am so glad you are here. It is an honour to be part of your journey.
